ABOUT SOVA STUDIO

Sova Studio is a Perth-based ceramic practice creating functional ware, sculptural vessels and community clay experiences.

Rooted in slow making, sensory experience and everyday ritual, the work explores care, memory, movement and belonging through clay.

The name Sova reflects the idea of rest and quiet moments. In a world that moves quickly, the studio embraces making as an opportunity to slow down, connect and notice the beauty in the everyday.

From a cup held each morning to a sculptural vessel shaped by hand, each piece carries traces of the making process. Variations in form, glaze and texture are embraced as part of its individual character and the hand of the maker.

Inspired by the balance of Japanese simplicity and Scandinavian warmth, Sova Studio creates work that feels calm, tactile and enduring — whether made to be used, experienced or simply lived alongside.

Beyond the objects themselves, Sova Studio is also becoming a space for connection through clay, bringing people together through shared making and creative experiences.

Sova Studio was founded by May, with a passion for creating pieces that feel personal, intentional, and quietly beautiful.

Each piece is shaped by hand, embracing subtle imperfections that make every item unique. What began as a creative practice grew into a collection designed for everyday rituals and meaningful gifting.
